Special student recognized

LAWRENCEVILLE – Shadimon Harrison, a senior at Brunswick High School, is the Brunswick Chamber of Commerce Student of the Month for October. Dr. Ronnie Watson, Principal, introduced Shadimon and shared some information about her.

“It is an honor today to present to you Miss Shadimon Harrison, daughter of Willie and Gloria Harrison, and a soon to be graduate of Brunswick High School with aspirations to become a Pediatrician. Shadimon is a senior at BHS with a 4.27 grade-point average and she has never had a grade less than a B during her almost 4 years in high school. She is currently obtaining her associate’s degree in general studies at Southside Virginia Community College as a Brunswick High School student. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars. She has been an active member of both the volleyball and tennis teams, a mentor for the Governor’s School of Southside Virginia Program, a choir member and praise dancer for Popular Mount Baptist Church and her guiding philosophy is ‘Education is a primary importance in life,’” Dr. Watson stated.

The 2019-2020 Student of the Month sponsors are Williams Funeral Home, Colonial Farm Credit, Remac, VCU Health–Community Memorial Hospital, Brunswick Times-Gazette, Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative, Edmonds Printing, Jolly’s Auto, Brodnax Lumber Company and First Citizens Bank.
