Petit larceny at Oak Grove Baptist Church
LAWRENCEVILLE – The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting at Pinecrest Apartments, 27 Crestview Road, on Feb. 8 and needs the community’s help.
According to information provided by Lieutenant Brad Evans, Sergeant D. W. Medlin responded to the apartments around 7 p.m. regarding shots being fired. Multiple 911 calls were placed. People at the scene said it was between six and eight shots fire and they also stated the boys were from Emporia driving a maroon or black car.
Around 1 a.m. Medlin and Sergeant J. R. Daniel were in the parking lot of Pinecrest when they were approached by a victim that said he found a bullet hole in his bedroom wall. Medlin and Daniel investigated and found a bullet hole in the ceiling. Daniel followed up later with the maintenance crew to retrieve the bullet from the ceiling and also from the door beside the sliding door of an apartment. The investigation is ongoing.
The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating a petit larceny at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 22355 Christanna Highway. At 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 8 Deputy A. W. Connell learned that a youth trip was planned for that day but was cancelled because the 2004 Ford van, license number JBI454, was making a loud noise. The person at the church said after looking at the van he found that the catalytic converter had been cut off. The crime occurred between Jan. 25 and Feb. 8.
