Alfred Randolph Williams was born in Alberta, Virginia, to the late Deacon Thomas Williams, Sr., and the late Mrs. Missie Lewis Williams on March 11, 1937. He passed away the morning of May 11, 2020 at Envoy of Lawrenceville, Virginia.
He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at an early age at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Lawrenceville, Virginia, where he attended Sunday school and church regularly until he relocated to the Richmond, Virginia, area.
He was married to Merdice Parham and to this union one son was born, Randy.
Alfred attended public schools in Brunswick County and graduated from James Solomon Russell High School in Lawrenceville in 1957 where he studied carpentry. After graduation, he moved to Richmond where he worked in transportation for the Richmond Restaurant Food Service, Incorporated, until he retired.
Alfred enjoyed his family, his work, fast cars, home cooked meals, and certain fast foods
He is survived by one son, Randy Williams, of Richmond; one brother, Thomas, of Lawrenceville; one sister, Glorine (Howard) Gholson of Triangle, Virginia, and a host of grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 12 noon from Brown’s Memorial Chapel with interment in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Lawrenceville, Virginia. Brown’s Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
