The Brunswick High School football team fell behind 29-0 in the first quarter and dropped a 42-12 decision at Liberty Christian on Friday night in Lynchburg.
The contest was played at Liberty University.
The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 0-2 on the season while LCA improved to 1-1.
“We were not able to run the ball and we turned the ball over too many times,” said Brunswick coach Darrell Owens. “We just did not play well.”
Tyler Rose and Cade Wyckoff each scored two touchdowns apiece to pace LCA in the victory.
Brunswick was able to find the end-zone twice in the second half when quarterback John Hicks hooked up with his brother Jaheim Hicks on two touchdown passes.
Brunswick will return home on Friday to face Charles City HS.
“They are in a rebounding mold,” said Coach Owens. “Hopefully we will play better.”
