The Brunswick HS varsity girls’ basketball team captured a pair of wins on the hardwood last week after topping Franklin HS 50-45 on Friday evening.

The two victories improved Brunswick to 5-5 overall and 5-3 in the district.

Nyiesha Pair and Niaya Henderson scored five points apiece in the first quarter for the Lady Bulldogs but Franklin took an 11-10 lead after the first eight minutes.

Pair scored six points in the second stanza but the Lady Broncos outscored Brunswick 14-11 to take a 25-21 lead to the halftime break.

The Lady Dogs ramped up their defense in the third quarter and outscored Franklin 16-4 as Henderson scored six points, Pair added five, and Alyse Crenshaw scored four and Brunswick opened up a 37-29 lead on the way to the victory.

Pair led Brunswick with 20 points on the night while Henderson added 15.

Miracle Manager led Franklin with 16 points while Tamiya Henderson added 14.
