A Big Week

It was a big week for a number of local sports teams.

Congrats to the Park View HS varsity volleyball team on completing a perfect 16-0 record in Tri-Rivers District play.

The regular season district champions will be the No. 1 seed for this week’s district tournament that got underway on Tuesday and also the 3A regional tourney that begins next week.

The Lady Dragons have the look of a state playoff team and are hoping to get back to the Big Dance.

Congrats also this week to the Park View boys’ cross-country team that swept to the district title with a great showing at Parker Park last week.

The Dragons have a number of talented runners and are hoping for a good showing in the regional meet.

Congratulations also are in order for the Park View Middle School football team that completed an undefeated 8-0 campaign and won the conference championship with a 20-0 win over a good Russell Middle School team last Wednesday night at Dragon Field.

The Cougars were a well-oiled machine and played some good football on both sides of the ball. Congrats to the players and Coaches Bruce Cliborne, Bill Jordan and the entire staff on a sensational campaign. There are some very good players that will be moving up to the JV and varsity ranks over the next several years.
