LAWRENCEVILLE – Earlier in the semester the library at Brunswick Academy was buzzing with activity as the boys and girls waited for the arrival of Elle, an American Pit Bull Terrier that is not like any dog you have ever seen.

Juliette Pair arranged for Elle and handler Leah Brewer to visit the class to talk about how to safely approach dogs and help ease any fears about dogs.

Elle is so special she has her own website – www.ellethepitbull.com.

Pair said, “Elle is a therapy dog who has received many awards and honors - the two top ones being 2013 Hero Dog Award and Therapy Dog of the Year selected by the American Humane Association - televised on the Hallmark channel. She is a reading buddy for young children through her ‘Tails are Waggin for Tales’ reading program, friend to senior citizens by visiting retirement homes, a positive influence for law enforcement officers and a teacher to all through her educational programs (P.A.W.S etc.) Her 'mom', Leah will be accompanying her. Leah’s motto: ‘Live as if you were to die tomorrow, Learn as if you were to live forever’ Gandhi, is what drives her educational presentations.”
