LAWRENCEVILLE – Jessica Priva Glosson, 19, from Oak Ridge, N.C. is charged with reckless driving by speed, eluding police, failure to obey a highway sign and failure to drive on the right side of the highway.

Captain Kent C. Washburn with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office said on June 23 Deputy Kevin Jones was working selective enforcement on Interstate 85 south near mile marker 29 and saw a vehicle being driven at a high rate of speed, verified to be 82 mph in a 70 mph zone. He attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle got off the interstate, failed to stop at a stop sign and was seen driving on the wrong side of the highway almost striking another vehicle head on. The vehicle was stopped on Boydton Plank Road near the Meherrin River Regional Jail. After an investigation Glosson was charged.

On June 29 Deputy Kevin Jones responded to a complaint of a break and enter, larceny at a residence on Starke Lane, Lawrenceville. The complainant said that someone entered his shop and stole a .32 caliber handgun and a Winchester model 3220, 1894, 3220 rifle.
