Some Home Cooking
The Park View High School varsity baseball and softball teams earned a pair of wins on Thursday afternoon after Sussex-Central HS forfeited both games of a scheduled doubleheader.
The two wins improved the Park View HS baseball team to 7-7 on the season while the Lady Dragons improved to 9-5.
The Park View varsity teams will enjoy a little home cooking this week as they were scheduled to play host to Brunswick HS on Monday, play host to Franklin HS on Tuesday and play host to Windsor HS on Thursday.
Both local teams are still jockeying for regional playoff seeding as they head into the final two weeks of the regular season.
The Park View JV baseball team meanwhile will try to finish the season on a strong note by playing two games at Franklin on Tuesday and a final road game at Windsor on Thursday. The Baby Dragons won their first six games of the season but have dropped their last three after falling 12-0 and 12-2 in doubleheader action at Colonial Heights last Monday.
The Park View JV softball team topped Central of Lunenburg 17-10 last week to improve to 6-2 on the campaign and will also look to finish the season on a strong note.
Congrats to Cougars
Congratulations to the Park View Middle School Cougars baseball team players and coaches on a great final season.
After starting out 1-2, the Cougars won eight straight to advance to the Southside Middle School Conference title game where they gave a good Powhatan team all they wanted before falling by a 4-0 score.
The Cougars have a number of talented youngsters that will become part of Mecklenburg County High School very soon and their success this year bodes well for the future!
